What is Dotwave?
Dotwave is a web application that helps professional data analysts do the least glamorous part of their job faster: cleaning messy data. You upload a real-world file, walk a guided pipeline that fixes the problems, and walk out with clean data, an interactive dashboard, and a record of exactly what you changed. Everything happens in the browser at app.dotwave.app — there is nothing to install.
The problem Dotwave solves
Ask any analyst where their project time goes and the answer is depressingly consistent: roughly 40% of every engagement is spent cleaning data before a single chart is drawn. Dates arrive in five different formats, numeric columns are stored as text, half the rows have missing values, and the same category is spelled three different ways. None of this is interesting work, and worse, none of it is visible to the person paying the bill. Clients pay for the polished dashboard, not the hours you spent wrestling their export into a usable shape.
Dotwave changes that in two ways. First, it makes cleaning genuinely fast by combining a structured pipeline with AI suggestions, so you stop writing the same one-off transformations by hand. Second, it makes the cleaning visible and defensible: every operation you apply is recorded and can be exported as an audit trail. That turns invisible labour into something you can put on an invoice and stand behind if a client asks how a number was produced.
What you can do with Dotwave
- Upload messy data — bring in CSV, TSV, XLSX, or XLS files up to 100MB straight from a client export.
- Walk a 4-step guided cleaning pipeline — Understand, Clean, Preprocess, and Feature engineering, each with a clear purpose so you never wonder what to do next.
- Get AI suggestions at every step — Dotwave reads your column profile and proposes concrete fixes you confirm before they run.
- Export clean data — download the result as CSV or Excel and drop it into whatever tool your workflow already uses.
- Build interactive dashboards — chart the cleaned data directly inside Dotwave without a round trip to another app.
- Share with clients — publish a dashboard behind a password-protected link so stakeholders can explore without an account.
- Export a cleaning audit PDF — hand clients a plain-English record of every change, ready to attach to an invoice.
- Save reusable recipes — capture a sequence of cleaning steps once and reapply it to next month's file in a click.
Who Dotwave is for
Dotwave is built for analysts who receive messy client data and have to clean it before they can visualize anything. If you spend your days in Power BI, Tableau, or Google Sheets and your real bottleneck is the state of the data before it reaches those tools, Dotwave sits upstream of your existing stack. It does the cleaning and the audit trail, then hands off clean data to whatever you already use — or lets you finish the job with its built-in dashboards.
Dotwave is free during early access. No credit card required — create an account and start cleaning your next client file today.
